Talisha Digrande: When you talk about artists are you speaking of painters, musicians, actors? If so then there is many musicians such as David Foster (producer - has done Whitney Houston, Dolly Parton, Natalie Cole for example), Celine Dion, Bryan Adams, Ann Murray, Rush, The Guess Who to name a few.For painters, Emily Carr is one of the top Canadian ones, her work is incredible. She is also a writer. Lucy Maude Montgomery is famous for writing the Anne of Green Gables series all based on her home in Prince Edward Island. Those are the ones I can think of. Arts & Entertainment is very strong in Canada, major cities have orchestras or bands or symponthys (sp?). Musicals and Operas are also in many cities including ones like Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Showboat, etc... Then there is the National Ballet of Canada based in Toronto.When it comes to movies & shows, many actors and actresses are from Canada including Michael J Fox, Alex Trebak, Peter Jennings, Dan Akroyd ! to name a few. Salvador Prchlik: the artists in Cape Dorset Nunavut are world renowned. Kenojuak Ashevak being one of them, she is in her 70s or 80s and her artwork sells in the thousands of dollars. They have carvers too that are also world renowned. Nunavut has a lot of great artists. Nunavut was also the place that made the movie "Atanarjuat: The Fast Runner" which was filmed and produced by Nunavut complany Isuma Productions.
