Raven Purl: Generally those reference numbers are something internal to the IRS to alert the person that you talk to on the phone what the issue might be. They do not tell the public what they mean.
Manual Burtis: You need to call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 or 1-800-829-0922 to find out what the Reference number pertains to. Only the IRS can answer that question with any accuracy
