Claude Gloden: I think you are a troll.
Alexis Reyer: As a Jehovah's Witness, I know it is a personal choice to attend weddings and funerals at other churches. I personally believe it to be a bad witness to refuse to attend a family event of such significance purely because of someone's religious beliefs being different to my own. Whilst I would not take catholic mass or participate in religious celebrations, I have attended a number of funerals (not so many weddings as my family tends to dismantle rather than marry) in other churches. Family is family. We don't forget that despite what ones are told. If a family member has told you they cant attend, this is wrong. They CHOOSE not to attend. Whether it is their own bible understanding (which they have for themselves, not just spoon fed) or a misconception or misunderstanding. It is their choice, and whilst I can't judge them I know I would probably choose differently. I had tonnes of non-witness relatives come to my! Kingdom Hall wedding - its mutual respect to reciprocate, not conversion!...Show more
Torrie Weissenbach: There are numerous scientifically provable explanations for this. Don't chalk everything up to your gods until you investigate all the other possibilities. And if the gods saved the atheist, what about the others? It's safe to assume at least one of the others was a believer, but the gods killed him or her anyway. Save the atheist and kill the believer? At least the gods have a sense of the ironic.Sorry, doesn't wash with me....Show more
Joellen Zorrilla: No, this is just a coincidence that means nothing. Luck is in no way proof of god. If you do believe in God, then why would God prove his existence? That would negate faith that saves everybody, because then we wouldn't believe, we'd know. I don't think God would take that away from you, but feel free to call that proof if you want.
Troy Staton: And DR: for your updated info my fella is NOT a wannabe! JW anymore! And my brothers in Christ? WTF? I am a non believe! r for the millionth time.
Sammy Hatzenbihler: No, just the opposite. If there was a God than surely he would save the believers and let the atheists die. It is a funny God that would kill believers in order to try to convert a non believer.
Sharie Sommerville: Im not talking about you REO - You are blocked coz you're nasty!
Lana Uliano: It is still up to her to except the wonderfull gift Jesus is STILL desperatly trying to hand her. He is knocking on the door of her heart begging her to let him come in. I think we should all pray for her salvation, because it's obvious God has something very special in mind for her.
Dorinda Metzer: if i would sleep during the time it takes to meditate I think I would get enough...so i sleep and don't meditate
Jed Mutone: Do you have your weddings conducted in the Kingdom Hall?Who marries the couple - Is it an elder? It really is a matter of personal choice. I've attended weddings of Witnesses at Kingdom Hal! ls, and Not at Kingdom Halls. In general, if it's at the Kingdom Hall, a local Elder will officiate. Especially if the couple wishes it to be a small ceremony, they might decide to do it "off site" as Kingdom Halls are, of course, open to all.And funerals? Is the service conducted in a KH too?Do JWs have burials and cremations?Once again, personal choice. Some choose to have their funerals at the Hall, others choose not to. On June 4th 2008 I attended the funeral of a sister, that was held near? the burial plot, in part because it was closer to her home where the family was gathering.Burial or Cremation...flip a coin:DI currently have the ashes of 2 grandmothers, my father, and my Dog. I think, not that I'll actively be making that choice, I'd prefer whatever's cheapest. My Mum said, when legalised in our region, she'd prefer to simply be burried in our back yard, once we've got things settled and KNOW we aren't likely to move/sell it....Show more
Scot Sepulbeda:! Docann: Thanks. I am what is often referred to as "Anti JW Cult" alleg! edly but even when asking a polite simple question the nutters come out! Lol..never mind. And some of the JWs here are seemingly nice actually, just the odd few rejects that cant decide what they want from life..
Bruce Calise: You could go ahead and say that maybe God was trying to get across to her that He is all-forgiving and perfectly fair, but you just can't call this proof. I currently find myself in a similar position; I was recently fired from my last job (for reasons completely stupid and bewildering), but I was VERY quickly brought on to work for a former manager that I worked with who is SUPER-ATHEIST!!!! The owners of the pizza franchise she worked for didn't do the best of jobs according to her, and she constantly insults them for being "lousy Christians", which has no bearing whatsoever on their managerial skills. She hates Christianity as much as anyone could, I think, but she helped me out when I was literally down to my last dollar. Freaky, huh? lol! All in all, God doesn't want us to KNOW He exists. He just wants to suggest to us that He exists....Show more
Georgina Natal: As for "End of Liars" comment, I had the same problem, where I was claimed that I don't block anyone. I had forgotten about those two people who are self-appointed moderators. But they don't actually count because they do not participate in discussion. Their only purpose is to "star" questions that they plan on reporting for deletion.
Myriam Hetjonk: yes, Yes, Yes, Yes.Weddings were celebrated in Bible times. Properly conducted weddings may be observed at the Kingdom Hall. As the Kingdom Hall is Jehovah's House, only an elder could properly perform the ceremony. Of course the ceremony would fulfill all the governmental requirements. The same with funerals. If a person was in good standing in the congregation a funeral could be held at the Kingdom Hall. A talk discussing the person's hope in a resurrection and a future life in an earthl! y paradise would be appropriate. The manner of disposing the body is 10! 0% personal. I am donating mine to the Medical College of Georgia....Show more
Alberto Kozub: This helps proves that Christianity is true.A few days ago, there was a paraglider who was swept up into a storm to thousands of feet above the normal paraglider height. It was freezing, but she lived. The others didn't, it was a miracle. She is an atheist. I think God was trying to get her to be a Christian. Hopefully she will not be stupid and she will convert after this. This was an opportunity that Jesus gave her to keep her from burning in Hell forever. This proves that God is fair and that he gives people that deserve to burn in Hell a second chance....Show more
Misty Vagle: Is the Chantry supposed to be like protestant christianity , or Catholicism ?BQ: Who here loves that game too?? =) tehe

Joaquin Dronko: Wow! That's one evil and ineffectual god you worship if it willingly sends its True Believers⢠to a horrible death in order to convert a nonbeliever -- and then fails at that. But, just in case you're correct (hah!), I'd be a fool to convert; your evil god might kill me just to make a point to some other atheist.BTW, no one deserves to burn in hell forever, not even someone like Hitler. If your god were real, it would show sinners the error of their ways and redeem them, even after death. Infinite punishment for finite crimes is just cruel and pointless....Show more
Gabriel Realmuto: Russ JW: Thanks, End of lies was starring all my questions and coincidentally they were usual! ly reported, I was warned about him/her, as were many of of users and ! so blocked them but yes they are correct - they have never mailed me nor answered a question I asked.I wasnt "lying" because I am an honest person, I simply didnt include you, apologies. And thanks for your answer, first ever I believe??
Charlotte Bryar: I do not believe that is proof of that than which nothing greater can be conceived. If she had been a blind leper when she took flight, and then returned to earth perfectly heathy with 20/20 vision, now that would have been a miracle. Maybe it was a miracle or maybe she was created with extraordinary paragliding skills? Either way. God is.
Dominic Sciancalepore: trk: I never said you was a cult (on this occassion)Chris: Stop moaning, the weather is glorious, I love it.Costa Del London is great!
Reginald Maxi: Thats not a miracle. I agree it was amazing, but not proof of gods existence by any stretch of the imagination. Why do you even try to find physical proof? If there is a god he obviously doesn't want a! ny direct proof of his existence and being that he is all powerful you are certainly not going to find any are you. I don't see why it matters. The atheists and theists are never going to be able to convert or prove the other side wrong so just agree to disagree. Us agnostics have decided simply to wait and see....Show more
Hope Lundmark: It sounds as if you've communicated with a lot of these R & S people before and don't have a good relationship with them. I can only tell you what I know about your question, from my own experiences. First, I have a friend who is a Jehovah's Witness. She was married in her Kingdom Hall, and an elder officiated. It was not an extravagant service, and the families plus a few friends attended. Second, a business acquaintance who was a JW died suddenly. His family claimed the body and had him buried without any kind of service. His friends and business associates were saddened because they didn't have an opportunity to "say goodby! e", but the family refused to have even a memorial service for him. No! w, I don't know if these are typical occurrences, but those are the only experiences I had relating to your question. I hope these answers help you....Show more
Hobert Dula: Yes,yes, yes, yes!but sometime it verys
Felipa Nosis: No, that is a myth. The benefits of meditation, other than simple relaxation, are mostly unsubstantiated from a scientific perspective. Your brain produces a totally different pattern when you are asleep, and you need 8 to 10 hours of sleep each night.
Star Gollnick: I don't email you, I don't post the land letter, and I only attack Catholics with truth and I know about them because almost everyone in NY is a catholic.
Kaylee Schmittou: Yes, last I heard.
Leif Serabia: all i know is, don't meditate when you're tired, because you'll fall asleep. also, don't meditate before you go to bed, because it keeps you up (i think that flood of thoughts you get as you're falling asleep is necessary, and meditation gets rid of them).
Matt Tiry: they will never understand my friend. the poor souls who do not see that God acted here need prayer. i hope they open their eyes soon.the way i look at it, the believers got to go to a better place. they no longer have to live in this ugly world of hate and sin. God did them a favor.God also did that girl a favor by not letting her die. surly if she would have died she would have been damed for eternity. our gracious God gave her a second chance. and i pray that she comes to realize this. because one day, she isnt going to get a second chance, and she will have to answer to God why she never paid attention.thank you for postingGod bless you...Show more
Jonathon Labonne: Desperate Rose - You (and REO)are the only people I have ever blocked and the reason is simple and nothing to do with you being a (supposed) JW. It's because you never answer without attacking Catholics (of which I am not affiliated with) and posting that boring land letter or info re! the swine flu.And because you kept emailing me the same boring drivel ! that you spout on here.I do indeed have email contact with a couple of JWs who I believe to be genuine but our communication is kept private at their request! You are like thrush to a woman do you know that?...Show more
Ismael Sixon: Yes, we have weddings and funerals in our halls, and yes, it's an elder who officiates. We have both burials and creamations.
Lindsey Zanardi: Well I'm not sure what a "Anti JW Cult" is, but it doesn't sound very nice.Anyway, yes we do have weddings and funerals at the Kingdom Hall. Weddings are as long as they are in good standing in the congregation. Yes an elder does the wedding talk and vows. Funerals or in most cases a memorial service if the body was cremated can sometimes be for a non-believer if their mate is a Witness. There is never a charge for using the Kingdom Hall. This is always up to the individual, some may decide to use a funeral home for the funeral. Some may what to get married outside or have the wedding ! at the same place as the reception etc.. We do not have receptions at the Kingdom Hall as it is a place of worship not a recreation hall. And by the way, we are not a cult....Show more
Ruthe Real: It's not meditation, it's enlightenment. Some people only need 1 hour of sleep, and others need a simple nap and they're good to go. It takes some time, though. If you set your mind to wake up after 6 hours, refreshed and ready to get going, you will find yourself doing just that! I've done this before. You can try it out and see how it goes. Just believe you'll be able to do it, otherwise part of you will keep telling you that you're tired and should go to sleep....Show more
Jonie Lauria: Actually if the paraglider was swept UP into the storm, that means she caught a warm updraft. Furthermore, heat is being released at those heights due to deposition (deposition produces heat), making the temperature slightly warmer than it would be at ground level. This is all very ! basic stuff.Furthermore, this sounds like one of those stupid hoaxes wr! itten by a high school dropout turned televangelist. A few days ago? when? There were "others"? If 10 paragliders just dive bombed the ground somewhere, you can bet it would be on the news. You should cite your sources, and stop trolling these boards with your rightwing christian zealotry. We get it...you're perfect...leave people be....Show more
Vickie Clampett: Yes have most certainly have weddings in Kingdom Halls, but those who want to get married in the KH have to be in good standing - in other words it can't be one of those, 'oops, hey everybody I'm pregnant, I guess we should get married now' situations.Yes an Elder gives the talk for their wedding, and uses the same outline provided by the Society outlining the roles of husband and wife.Yes Funerals are also held at the KH, but the deceased needs to be a member of the congregation. Yes we do burials and/or cremations depending on the wishes of the deceased and/or family is such arrangements have not already b! een taken care of. So, basically their is no 'weird' ceremonies or nothing out of the ordinary. However, regarding the wedding we stay away from some traditional wedding practices - like throwing of the rice, and tossing of the woman's 'leg thingy' (lol, I don't know what you call that thing.) And if their is a bachelor or bachelorette party (In some places this is done - not where I'm from though) then it is not done with the overflowing alcohol, strippers and revelry usually associated with these type of occasions....Show more
Oda Mauson: Bernard: that "leg thingy" is called a garter, you should get out more..lol
Antonia Mogg: Jesus said, "Let the dead bury the dead." Marriage is the beginning of a blissful journey for two and their life has just begun. I for one see a funeral as a last farewell with due respect for the dead person. Once their underground; hey life goes on for the living. Enjoy life now and enjoy all what you can. Don't worry about fun! erals and the dead. They are then in God's territory even before you c! an plan the funeral. Its only flesh that lies in the box.
Armando Somes: my mom meditates and some of her friends do too. and she told me that they sleep 6 hours every night and meditate for 2. I need at least 8 or 9 hours of sleep but if I meditated would I need that much? Would I feel tired after 6 hours of sleep?
Natalya Sydney: Funny...you ask Qs about JWs....cause your boyfriend who is muslim is learning a bout the bible with JWs...but you block JWs so they can't answer you...Why ??Your brothers is Christ are killing muslims brothers of your boyfriend....Why don't you condemn that.....instead of attack the JWs that do not kill people in wars??The Land letter was a letter sent to U.S. President George W. Bush by five evangelical Christian leaders on October 3, 2002, outlining their theological support for a just war pre-emptive invasion of Iraq. The letter was written by Richard D. Cliff Tyre: Nope, it's not nessecarily true.! I meditate everyday and still need more than 6 hours of sleep! Meditation makes us relaxed, and it's especially good before sleep, as it makes you sleepier! Your mum and her friends sleep 6 hours only because as we grow older, we tend to sleep less. Your mum is an elderly, and older people sleep less. It's a fact and my mum is a proof. She can go to sleep at 12 am and wake up at 5 am automatically.
