Canon EOS 40D owner looking for best lens for wide/landscape shots?

Brock Hladik: try attaching a wide angle lens attachment to the lens you already have

Jonelle Eligio: Take a look at the Canon EF-S 10-22mm ultra-wide zoom. Around $700.00 USD.The Tamron SP AF10-24mm Di II Aspherical would also be a good choice. Around $475.00 USD.For the very best landscapes, always use a tripod. My set-up is a 21mm lens at f16 and focused to 6' which yields a depth of field from 2'-2" to infinity. Camera perfectly level on a 3-way tilt/pan head on my ancient Slik tripod. I always shoot in Aperture Priority and let the camera worry about the shutter speed. I use a cable release or the camera's self-timer to release the shutter. To calculate Depth of Field with any combination of lens focal length, f-stop and subject distance just go to http://www.dofmaster.com/dofjs.html...Show more

Brice Greczkowski: Yea, Edwin got it 100% ccorrect! There is no better lens for you than the 10-22! I would suggest cropping the height down in post processing th! ough, depending on the shot. These two shots although taken with a different lens, are equivalent to a 10-22
