How do you wash my dog? Take care of them?

Rubye Bonnin: wet, apply shampoo, rub it in, rinse, towel dry/ and or use hair dryer.feed dog recommended amount of food, usually tells you how much to feed them based on their weight, chihuahuas like to snuggle so make sure to have a blanket just for the dog, they like to cover up. i would recommend brushing on occasion its good for their coat, though being short haired, won't require constant maintenance. Just give it lots of love, and you should be fine

Tijuana Tatsak: Well I know how to take care of them but I mean like the extra stuff like what to keep out of the way so a puppy doesn't hurt themselves

Myriam Hetjonk: "How do you give them a wash?"First of all, you'll want to make the experience positive for the dog. If you don't make an effort to make the dog comfortable, he'll most likely be one of the countless dogs who fight at bath time.At first, just give him plenty of tasty treats and praise for simply being in the bath tub or sink or wherever you c! hoose to bathe him. He should be comfortable in that area. Then, turn on the water just a tiny bit. Make sure it's warm, but not hot! Reward the dog for being comfortable with the weird water source. Then put a small amount of water on the dog, then a little more. Always give him super-tasty treats, praise and affection for being "brave." (Remember, bath time is very unnatural for dogs!) If he seems afraid or nervous, do not coddle him or reward him. Ignore or distract fear. If you try to soothe him by talking softly, petting him or hugging him, you will be rewarding his fearful reaction. Sweet-talking and petting is how we praise a dog, and thus he'll think you're praising him for freaking out.As for actually bathing, make sure you buy a shampoo that is appropriate for young puppies. I'm personally fond of Earthbath brand, but that's just me. First, you wet the dog's coat thoroughly. Massage a small amount of shampoo into his fur and work it into a lather. It's just like h! ow you wash your hair. Then, rinse it thoroughly with water. M! ake sure you remove it completely, left-over shampoo residue is really irritating on the skin. You can then simply dry the dog with a towel by gently and firmly rubbing the fur dry. Do not bathe too often. Dogs just don't need it. If you're giving the dog a bath any more than once a month, that's much too often. Here's an article on Chihuahua grooming:http://www.thechihuahuaguide.com/Chihuahua_Care/Ch...---"How do you take care of them??"..You mean in general? If you have no idea how to care for a dog, your first priority should not be how to give a bathe. Do you mean you don't know what to feed, what supplies to get, so on and so forth?---"Do you have to brush short haired chihuahua's??"You don't technically have to brush them. Their short fur isn't going to tangle or anything. However, you should brush short-haired dogs, too. This removes all dead hair and debris and really reduces all the shedded fur you find on your couch and rug. It keeps the skin and coat healthier, sm! oother and shinier....Show more
