Lenard Ginyard: How the hell do you break a crank?Don't waste money on a Honda. Sell it for scrap and get a quality vehicle.
Sherita Gallati: Yeah I have never heard of a broken crankshaft in a situation like this so a second opinion is a must. If the crankshaft really is broken I may enver trust anything on the car again, definately not the engine. Someone did bad bad things to that car to get the crankshaft to break. Do not repair the engine. If you really need to for financial reasons I wold put in a new engine. If you can afford it get a new car. If the car was really beat on other things will be hurting too. Hondas are great cars so don't be discouraged. This was either the result of a decade of serious abuse or a freak accident....Show more
Marco Stolarz: first... have ANOTHER mechanic take a look especially at a honda dealership because I have NEVER heard of a stock civic breaking a crankshaft. Depending on if that is truly the case... having an! other motor swapped in for only 2500 is the better choice... the extra 200 will get you around what other damage the crank could have causedsecond: The advantages of having it repaired at a honda dealership are you get a significant warranty on the parts/labor but you also pay a LOT more3rd dont listen to the other moron who said to sell it for scrap and get a "quality vehicle" ... he says hes an AUTO tech... probably a stupid kid Otherwise he would most likely encourage keeping the honda because well to my knowledge and from experience honda is about the most quality you are gonna get in the price range... keeping this car is probably the best option in the $2500 price range...Show more
Kim Gerbino: you should have been expecting that its better to replace the crank and Berings and stuff and hope that the crank did not gouge or warp anything cuz if it did u need a new engine.
Rodrigo Pezley: Honda Crankshaft
Samatha Nicar: Did you do your oil changes ever! y 3 months or 3000 miles? There are so many questions. Is it a! manual or an automatic? Do you have $2300-$2500. Do you want to keep driving it. Do you think the people before you took good car of your car?
