Do you Italicize the quotations?

Shena Etulain: just plain old quotes should be fine. Italicizing is really only for bringing out words you want people to notice.

Ardelia Liptow: Italicize when you are making a point! Or, you are making a direct quote. Also, my love, brush up on your spelling. Cheers!

Antone Youla: This is for a though so, so the text is defiantly italicized.

Gerardo Greist: No, and you shouldn't italicize the quote either. Standard MLA format says that you need only quote the passage. Specify what kind of paper you're writing, but for both research papers or english journals the quotation would go like this.In the book, "he looked at her dead body and felt nothing, not even remorse" (page #).OrEmma Goldman was said to be "one of the most controversial anarchists of all time" (AuthorsLastName page#), but she was... etc.Do you see?...Show more

Dick Maisenbacher: No. You do not italicize the quotations.Ex. She said, "blah blah blah.."(34).
